About the paper
Giclée prints on Awagami Bamboo Paper offer an almost ineffably perfect blend of eco-friendliness, durability, and superior print quality, making them the ideal choice for art collectors and enthusiasts who have a discerning eye and a heart that beats for sustainability. Made from 70% bamboo fiber and 30% recycled kozo (mulberry) and cotton, this paper is both sustainable and beautiful. Its fine, slightly textured surface enhances print vibrancy and detail, feeling soft to the touch, like a pillow with just a whisper of soft powder. The paper’s slightly warm yellow off-white color creates a warmer, more comfortable feeling compared to other stark white papers.
- Eco-Friendly: Sustainable bamboo and recycled fibers.
- Texture and Feel: Adds depth and character to each piece.
- Durability: Strong and long-lasting.
- Print Quality: Vibrant colors and razor-sharp details.
- Archival Quality: Acid-free and lignin-free for preservation.
‘Heavyweight Bamboo 250gsm’ is a fine organic choice for printmaking, offering notable eco-friendly advantages over cotton-based papers. This dense yet wonderfully soft paper is crafted with the utmost care for stunning print output and archival longevity. It is made from a 70% bamboo and 30% recycled pulp mix (Optical Brightness Level = 77). 100% made, coated, and packaged exclusively at Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan.
With proper care, giclée prints on Awagami Bamboo Paper last for decades without fading. Once dried, the inks do not smudge. Proper framing and a stable environment protect the print’s quality, while the archival paper resists degradation and yellowing, ensuring your artwork remains valuable and stunning over time.
